Thanks for the information..I had no idea. I am usually well informed before I take on anything, so its time to start reading up on the options. :)Nikki609https://www.blogger.com/profile/02117100470971476417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4213252240052782559.post-24178693099705338402014-08-07T20:01:30.318-04:002014-08-07T20:01:30.318-04:00My munchkin was born on the 19th! I always thought that I would get a sleeve if I revised but there has been some new research on band to sleeve revisions and there is a noticeably high post op complication rate due to band related scar tissue, suture leakage, etc. I consulted 2 different surgical groups and 1 flat out refused to revise from band to sleeve and the other really didn't want to. I ended up going back and researching the bypass some more and decided to go with it based on average long term results. I wonder if the pregnancy helped cause the dilation or if it was me eating the wrong foods :( They did say I was a good candidate for revision because of the issues with the band and the fact that only a tiny (.2 cc) fill affects me so drastically. We'll see...I'm going to try to continue to lose with the band and hopefully taking it back to basics works, but if not...I will like go revision surgery too...not sure if I'll go sleeve or gastric bypass. Can I ask why you chose gastric bypass? Congrats on the baby as well...December is when our munchkins were born! the 18th! :)Nikki609https://www.blogger.com/profile/02117100470971476417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4213252240052782559.post-13351974736241248842014-08-06T16:27:06.660-04:002014-08-06T16:27:06.660-04:00I had a baby in Dec. 2013 and ended up with a pouc...I had a baby in Dec. 2013 and ended up with a pouch dilation and slippage. I chose to revise to Bypass for numerous reasons, but I really hated to lose my band. Life with bypass is much different and taking some getting used to.
